The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) announced today that it has expanded advance ticket booking to 90 days for 32 special express and rapid trains, following a policy directive from Deputy Minister of Transport Suraphong Piyachote. This initiative aims to enhance convenience for travelers and improve the efficiency of SRT's services.
In addition, SRT has added 26 special passenger trains to this 90-day advance booking window, covering all routes that require seat reservations. This service expansion begins today, June 1st, 2024.
The SRT anticipates that expanding advance ticket booking will enable passengers to better plan their trips and contribute to more efficient train travel.

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has launched a pilot Drive Thru Ticket service at Lopburi Station, offering an easy way to purchase and book tickets without leaving your car. This service begins today.
Mr. Ekarat Sriarayaphong, Head of the Governor's Office of the State Railway of Thailand, revealed that under the directive of Mr. Surapong Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport, the SRT is enhancing its services to facilitate passenger convenience. The Drive Thru Ticket service at Lopburi Station is the first of its kind, allowing passengers to purchase or book tickets and pay for them without leaving their vehicle. Payment can be made via cash, credit card, debit card, or QR Code through a banking mobile application, effective immediately.
The Drive Thru Ticket service at Lopburi Railway Station is available daily from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM, including public holidays. Passengers can book tickets through a simple three-step process:
1. Add the official LINE account of Lopburi Railway Station to inquire about available seats or call 036-411-022.
2. Make an online payment (via QR CODE at the Drive Thru counter) or pay in cash.
3. Drive to the Drive Thru booth at the front of Lopburi Railway Station to book and receive your ticket.
Additionally, passengers can book and reserve tickets through other channels such as the SRT D-Ticket Mobile Application, the website https://www.dticket.railway.co.th , or at any railway station nationwide.
Passengers can also check the status, position, and arrival time of their destination using the Train Tracking System (TTS) at https://ttsview.railway.co.th

The State Railway of Thailand is opening advance bookings for up to 180 days for popular CNR train routes for destinations from Sila At, Lam Plai Mat, Muang Phon, and up to Surat Thani. With new regulations, each seat must have a name specified, and tickets purchased cannot be renamed or transferred to others.
Today (June 30), it was reported that on July 1, 2024, the State Railway of Thailand will open advance bookings for up to 180 days for 8 CNR train services. These include:
- Uttaravithi Express (Train 9 Bangkok Apiwat - Chiang Mai, Train 10 Chiang Mai - Bangkok Apiwat)
- Isan Wattana Express (Train 23 Bangkok Apiwat - Ubon Ratchathani, Train 24 Ubon Ratchathani - Bangkok Apiwat)
- Isan Marakha Express (Train 25 Bangkok Apiwat - Nong Khai, Train 26 Nong Khai - Bangkok Apiwat)
- Thaksinarath Express (Train 31 Bangkok Apiwat - Hat Yai Junction, Train 32 Hat Yai Junction - Bangkok Apiwat)
Passengers can book tickets in advance for up to 180 days for popular routes.
Passengers booking tickets for at least 60% of the train's journey distance can book 180 days in advance, including travel changes. The main station is Bangkok Apiwat, with routes including:
- Northern line: from Sila At station, Uttaradit province onward
- Northeastern line: Ubon Ratchathani route from Lam Plai Mat station, Buriram province onward; Nong Khai route from Muang Phon station onward
- Southern line: from Surat Thani station onward
For the New Year's Festival 2025, advance bookings start at 8:30 AM through nationwide train stations, Call Center 1690, D-Ticket website, and application on the following dates:
- July 1, 2024: for travel on Dec 25-28, 2024
- July 2, 2024: for travel on Dec 29, 2024
- July 3, 2024: for travel on Dec 30, 2024
- July 4, 2024: for travel on Dec 31, 2024
- July 5, 2024: for travel on Jan 1, 2025
- July 6, 2024: for travel on Jan 2, 2025
- July 7, 2024: for travel on Jan 3, 2025

Passengers booking for 25-59% of the journey distance can book 30 days in advance. For trips less than 25% of the journey distance, tickets can be booked 1 day in advance.
From July 1, 2024, passengers purchasing reserved seat tickets must provide details such as name, surname, ID number, or passport number. This is to ensure travel rights protection according to the One ID One Ticket policy, except for 3rd class ordinary seat tickets purchased less than 2 hours before departure.
Train stations will publicize that tickets with recorded passenger information cannot be changed or transferred. If a traveler's name needs to be changed, the ticket must be refunded (with fees deducted) and a new ticket issued.
Before leaving the ticket counter, passengers should check the traveler's information on the ticket. If there are any errors (such as misspellings), notify the ticketing staff immediately for corrections. After leaving the ticket counter, complaints or corrections will not be entertained.

Train Service Launches "One ID One Ticket" Reservation System

Ekarat Sriarayampong, Chief of the Governor's Office of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), announced that following the directive from Deputy Minister of Transport Surapong Piyachot, the SRT has implemented technology to enhance service efficiency. This aims to make train travel more convenient, fast, safe, and equitable for the public.
The SRT has now upgraded its services towards becoming a digital organization by introducing the "One ID One Ticket" system. This system, which links one ID card to one ticket, aims to ensure safety and accessibility for passengers. The system has been implemented for booking and purchasing tickets from now on.
The "One ID One Ticket" system requires identity verification before each booking, enhancing security and preventing ticket resale at inflated prices. Moreover, it guarantees accident insurance coverage for passengers whose names match the tickets.
Passengers can book tickets through any channel, including the D-Ticket online system or at train stations nationwide. Every ticket must include the traveler's name and ID number, and this system applies to express, special express, and rapid trains, as well as excursion trains. It does not include short-distance trains like commuter and local trains. If travel changes are necessary, passengers can refund tickets according to SRT's regulations.
In the future, SRT plans to collaborate with the Transport Company Limited (BorKorSor) to integrate public transport systems. This will allow the "One ID One Ticket" system to book both train and bus tickets with a single membership code, aiming for seamless public transportation as per the Ministry of Transport's policy.
The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) explained that a fire affecting electrical and communication lines near Or Tor Kor Market has temporarily disrupted its ticketing and reservation system. The system is expected to be fully operational by 3:30 PM today.
At 10:16 AM today, the Rama 199 Radio Center reported a short circuit in electrical lines near Or Tor Kor Market on Kamphaeng Phet Road. Firefighters and rescue personnel from the Phaholyothin Fire Station responded and found that the fire had spread to communication lines. They are working to extinguish the fire and assess the damage.
Mr. Ekachai Sriarayanpong, Head of the SRT Governor's Office, stated that the fire severely damaged the server lines for the SRT's ticketing and reservation system. This necessitated shutting down the system, temporarily disabling ticket sales and reservations through all channels, including station counters.
The SRT has informed Mr. Surapong Piyachoti, Deputy Minister of Transport, about the situation. He instructed the SRT to expedite repairs to restore the D-Ticket system as quickly as possible and to provide the best possible service to passengers traveling today.
Mr. Ekachai added that most long-distance passengers today will not be affected, as the SRT allows booking tickets up to 180 days in advance. Passengers who booked online through D-Ticket can view their tickets via the email registered with the system.
The Electricity Authority of Thailand and SRT personnel are working to replace the damaged lines and transfer the internet signal to a backup computer center. This is expected to take approximately two hours, with the system expected to be operational by 3:30 PM.
In the meantime, the SRT has instructed all stations to sell tickets offline temporarily.
