ขอบคุณมาก ๆ ครับที่นำมาให้ชมกัน
น่าเสียดายที่ทางรถไฟสายมรณะช่วงชุมทางหนองปลาดุก-น้ำตก ไม่มีอะไรที่เป็นของเก่าดั้งเดิมสมัยสงครามให้เห็น
ที่เห็นอยู่ล้วนเป็นของใหม่ สร้างขึ้นในภายหลังทั้งสิ้น แม้แต่ตัวสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแควเอง

ที่ผ่านมา งานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับทางรถไฟสายมรณะ แทบ 100% เป็นงานวิจัยเชิงประวัติศาสตร์ (ศึกษาว่าเกิดเหตุการณ์อะไร อย่างไร) ยังไม่เห็นใครทำวิจัยทางโบราณคดี (มีซากอะไรเหลืออยู่ที่ไหน) ออกมาเป็นลายลักษณ์อักษรเลยครับ
ปัจจุบันเห็นมีเพียงสมาชิกในเว็บรถไฟไทยดอทคอม อย่างเช่นผู้พัน tentarmy43 ที่ลงพื้นที่สำรวจ Wink

ไว้มีเวลาว่าง อยากแกะรอยเส้นทางรถไฟช่วงน้ำตก-ด่านเจดีย์สามองค์ดูจริง ๆ สักที โดยใช้ภาพถ่ายทางอากาศปี 2495-99 ครับ แม้จะไม่ได้ตั้งความหวังอะไรมาก เนื่องจากเส้นทางที่เป็นพื้นที่ป่า ร่มของต้นไม้มักจะบดบังแนวคันทางรถไฟครับ

อาจารย์เอกครับ...ยังมีร่องรอยอีกหลายจุดนะครับ โดยเฉพาะ Piont Asia เมื่อมองจากภาพถ่ายดาวเทียมจะเห็นเป็นทางโค้งเด่นชัดมากครับ.....ตรงที่เลยน้ำตกไทรโยคน้อยไปไม่กี่กิโลเมตรครับ แถวๆหลังด่านตรวจพุองกะนะครับ

ผมมีข้อสงสัยครับจริงๆคลิปนี้มีอีก 3 ตอนนะครับรู้สึกคลิปท้ายๆมีการพูดถึงการทิ้งระเบิดสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแควด้วย เลยอยากทราบว่าถ้ามีการสร้างสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแควขึ้นมาใหม่นี้อะไรบ้างครับที่เป็นของเดิมมาตั้งแต่ตอนสงครามอย่างช่วงเหล็กโค้งนี้เป็นของเดิมที่กองทัพญี่ปุ่นรื้อมาจากชวาหรือว่าต่อม่อก็เป็นของเดิมหรือป่าวครับ ยกเว้นช่วงที่เป็นสี่เหลี่ยมคางหมู 2 ช่วงที่โดนทิ้งระเบิดที่มีการสร้างขึ้นมาใหม่ เพราะผมว่าถ้าเทียบกับสะพานถ้ำกระแซแล้วสะพานถ้ำกระแซน่าจะสร้างใหม่ทั้งหมดเลยถ้าเทียบดูกับภาพถ่ายในช่วงสงคราม

“ทางรถไฟสายมรณะ” จากบาดแผลสงคราม สู่ “ทางรถไฟแห่งความหรรษา” เส้นทางท่องเที่ยวสุดปังแห่งเมืองกาญจน์

“สงคราม” คือความโหดร้ายที่ไม่เคยปราณีต่อทุกสรรพสิ่ง ไม่ว่าจะเป็น มนุษย์ สัตว์ ต้นไม้ ธรรมชาติ สิ่งก่อสร้าง อายรธรรมนับพันปีของมนุษยชาติ หรือแม้กระทั่งโลกของเราใบนี้

ท่ามกลางสงครามระหว่าง “รัสเซีย-ยูเครน” ที่มีการรบพุ่งยืดเยื้อ และสงคราม “อิสราเอล-ฮามาส” ที่ยังไม่มีทีท่าว่าจะจบลงโดยเร็ววัน เราขอย้อนไปรำลึกถึงหนึ่งในเรื่องราวรอยอดีตจากบาดแผลแห่งสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ที่มีชื่อเสียงลือลั่นในบ้านเรานั่นก็คือ “ทางรถไฟสายมรณะ” ที่วันนี้ได้กลายเป็นเส้นทางท่องเที่ยวชื่อดังแห่งจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี

กำเนิดทางรถไฟสายมรณะ



ทางรถไฟสายมรณะ เดิมมีชื่อว่า “ทางรถไฟสายไทย-พม่า” สร้างขึ้นในสมัยสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 โดยรัฐบาลญี่ปุ่นขอยืมเงินจากรัฐบาลไทยจำนวน 4 ล้านบาท เพื่อดำเนินการก่อสร้างทางรถไฟเชื่อมไทย-พม่า จาก จ.กาญจนบุรีไปยังปลายทางที่ เมืองตันบูซายัด ประเทศพม่า (ชื่อในสมัยนั้น)

ทางรถไฟสายไทย-พม่า มีระยะทางรวม 415 กิโลเมตร ใช้เวลาก่อสร้างเพียง 1 ปี ตั้งแต่เดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2485 ถึงเดือนตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2486 โดยใช้แรงงานเชลยศึกฝ่ายสัมพันธมิตรและกรรมกรชาวเอเชียที่กองทัพญี่ปุ่นเกณฑ์มาสร้างทางรถไฟสายนี้ เพื่อใช้ในการลำเลียงกำลังพลและอาวุธยุทโธปกรณ์ผ่านพม่าไปยังเอเชียตอนใต้ในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2


ครั้นเมื่อสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ยุติลงในปี พ.ศ. 2488 ญี่ปุ่นเป็นฝ่ายพ่ายแพ้สงคราม ทางรถไฟสายไทย-พม่ากลายเป็น “ทรัพย์เชลย” โดยอังกฤษหนึ่งในประเทศผู้ชนะสงครามได้เป็นผู้ครอบครองเส้นทางรถไฟสายนี้

จากนั้นในช่วงต้นปี พ.ศ. 2489 กองทหารอังกฤษได้รื้อทางรถไฟที่อยู่ในประเทศพม่าออก 30 กิโลเมตร และรื้อทางรถไฟเขตประเทศไทยออก 6 กิโลเมตร แล้ว จึงได้เสนอขายทางรถไฟสายนี้ต่อให้กับประเทศไทยในราคา 50 ล้านบาท


หลังประเทศไทยได้ครอบครองทางรถไฟดังกล่าวได้ทำการปรับปรุงให้เป็น “เส้นทางรถไฟสายน้ำตก” ที่เริ่มต้นตั้งแต่สถานี “ชุมทางหนองปลาดุก” อำเภอบ้านโป่ง จังหวัดราชบุรี ผ่านจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี ข้ามแม่น้ำแควใหญ่ไปสิ้นสุดที่ “สถานีน้ำตก” บ้านท่าเสา อ.ไทรโยค จ.กาญจนบุรี


อย่างไรก็ดีปัจจุบันคนจะรู้จักชื่อทางรถไฟสายนี้ในชื่อ “ทางรถไฟสายมรณะ” กันอย่างกว้างขวาง เนื่องจากพอหลังสิ้นสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ภาพและข่าวความโหดร้ายที่ญี่ปุ่นกระทำต่อแรงงานและเชลยศึกที่ถูกกวาดต้อนมาสร้างทางรถไฟสายนี้ถูกเผยแพร่ออกไป ทั้งภาพชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ที่สุดแสนรันทด การใช้แรงงานที่หนักและโหดเกินมนุษย์ทั่วไป ภาพสังขารอันน่าสังเวชของเหล่าเชลยศึก รวมถึงจำนวนของผู้เสียชีวิตและผู้สูญหายในการก่อสร้างสะพานครั้งนี้ที่มีสูงกว่า 200,000 คนเลยทีเดียว

จากทางรถไฟสายมรณะสู่ทางรถไฟสายหรรษา

ปี พ.ศ. 2500 หลังภาพยนตร์เรื่อง “The Bridge on the River Kwai” หรือ “สะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว” ของผู้กำกับ “เดวิด ลีน” ออกฉาย นอกจากจะทำให้ผู้ชมเห็นถึงความโหดร้ายของสงครามแล้ว ยังทำให้โลกรู้จักทางรถไฟสายมรณะและสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว รวมถึงจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี


ทำให้มีนักท่องเที่ยวจำนวนมากจากทั่วโลกต้องการเดินทางมาท่องเที่ยวย้อนรอยเส้นทางประวัติศาสตร์สงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ครั้งนี้ ด้วยเหตุนี้ทางการรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย จึงปรับเปลี่ยน “เส้นทางมรณะ” ให้เป็น “เส้นทางท่องเที่ยว” ตั้งแต่เดือนกรกฎาคม 2501 เป็นต้นมา

จากนั้นเส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะหรือทางรถไฟสายน้ำตกก็กลายเป็นหนึ่งในเส้นทางนั่งรถไฟเที่ยวยอดนิยมของบ้านเรา ถึงขนาดวง The Innocent นำไปแต่งเป็นเพลง “มนต์ไทรโยค” อันลือลั่น


เส้นทางนั่งรถไฟสายน้ำตกจากกรุงเทพฯสู่กาญจนบุรีนั้น จะเป็นแบบวันเดย์ทริป ไปเช้า-เย็นกลับ ระหว่างเส้นทางจะมีบางจุดให้แวะลงถ่ายรูปเป็นที่ระลึก ก่อนไปสิ้นสุดที่สถานีน้ำตก บ้านท่าเสา ซึ่งจะมีรถสองแถววิ่งบริการรับ-ส่ง ไปยัง“น้ำตกไทรโยคน้อย” ต่ออีกที

สำหรับจุดท่องเที่ยวที่เชื่อมโยงกับรอยอดีตของสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 บนเส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะนั้น มี 2 จุดหลักด้วยกัน ได้แก่


-“สะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว” (ต.ท่ามะขาม อ.เมือง จ.กาญจนบุรี) เป็นสะพานที่สร้างขึ้นในช่วงสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 โดยนำเหล็กจากมลายูมาประกอบเป็นชิ้น ๆ สะพานข้ามแห่งนี้จะใช้เวลาสร้างแค่เพียง 1 เดือน แต่ว่ากลับมีผู้เสียชีวิตจากการสร้างสะพานเป็นจำนวนมากหลายหมื่นคน

ปัจจุบันสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแควนอกจากจะเป็นสถานที่ท่องเที่ยวขึ้นชื่อและเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของจังหวัดกาญจนบุรีแล้ว ยังได้รับการยกย่องให้เป็น “สัญลักษณ์แห่งสันติภาพ” อีกด้วย


- “ถ้ำกระแซ” (บ้านวังโพธิ์ ต.ลุ่มสุ่ม อ.ไทรโยค จ.กาญจนบุรี) เป็นเส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะช่วงที่สร้างยากที่สุด เนื่องจากเส้นทางโค้งเลียบเขาติดหน้าผาซึ่งคนเรียกกันว่า “โค้งมรณะ” ทำให้มีผู้เสียชีวิตจากการสร้างทางรถไฟในช่วงนี้เป็นจำนวนมากเช่นกัน


อย่างไรก็ดีเมื่อทางรถไฟสร้างเสร็จบริเวณนี้ถือเป็นช่วงที่สวยที่สุดของทางรถไฟสายมรณะ เพราะฝั่งหนึ่งเป็นเส้นทางโค้งไปตามภูเขา ส่วนอีกฝั่งหนึ่งเป็นแม่น้ำแควน้อย สามารถมองวิวทิวทัศน์อันสวยงามทั้งจากคนที่นั่งอยู่บนรถไฟและจากผู้ที่มองเห็นรถไฟวิ่งอยู่ด้านล่าง


ขณะที่ถ้ำกระแซนั้นเคยเป็นที่พักอาศัยของเชลยศึกเมื่อครั้งสร้างทางรถไฟสายมรณะ ปัจจุบันถ้ำแห่งนี้เปิดให้ผู้สนใจเข้าเที่ยวชมภายใน โดยมีพระพุทธรูปศักดิ์สิทธิ์ประดิษฐานอยู่

นอกจาก 2 จุดท่องเที่ยวไฮไลต์บนเส้นทางสายมรณะแล้ว จ.กาญจนบุรียังมี “ช่องเขาขาด” (ต.ท่าเสา อ.ไทรโยค) เป็นอีกหนึ่งสถานที่สำคัญที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการสร้างทางรถไฟสายมรณะ


ช่องเขาขาด หรือ “ช่องไฟนรก” (Hellfire Pass) เป็นจุดที่เชลยศึกและกรรมกรจะต้องขุดภูเขาให้เป็นช่อง เพื่อเปิดเส้นทางให้รถไฟสามารถวิ่งผ่านไปได้

ปัจจุบันที่นี่ปรับปรุงเป็นพิพิธภัณฑ์ที่รวบรวมข้าวของเครื่องใช้ ภาพถ่าย และบรรยากาศในสมัยนั้นมาไว้ รวมถึงพื้นที่ด้านหลังของพิพิธภัณฑ์ จะมีเส้นทางเดินลัดเลาะลงไปยังเส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะ ซึ่งบางจุดยังคงมีรางรถไฟให้เห็นอยู่บ้าง ตลอดสองข้างทางเป็นป่าครึ้ม มีจุดที่จัดแสดงเครื่องมือเครื่องใช้ที่ใช้ในการก่อสร้างทางรถไฟ และมีจุดที่แสดงความไว้อาลัยแก่ผู้ที่เสียชีวิต ณ ที่นี้


และนี่ก็คือแหล่งท่องเที่ยวไฮไลต์สำคัญบนเส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะ ซึ่งปัจจุบันแม้เส้นทางรถไฟสายนี้จะเปลี่ยนเป็นเส้นทางรถไฟท่องเที่ยวอันชวนหรรษาแล้ว แต่ว่ารอยอดีตแห่งสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 นั้นยังไม่เลือนหาย ยังคงประทับเป็นดังอนุสรณ์แห่งความทรงจำที่แสดงให้เห็นถึงความโหดร้ายของสงครามได้เป็นอย่างดีอีกแห่งหนึ่งของโลก


หมายเหตุ : เส้นทางรถไฟสายมรณะ “กรุงเทพฯ – กาญจนบุรี – น้ำตก” มีทั้งขบวนธรรมดา (นั่งจากสถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ ธนบุรี) และ รถไฟนำเที่ยวขบวนพิเศษ (นั่งจากสถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ หัวลำโพง) ทุกวันเสาร์ – อาทิตย์ และวันหยุดนักขัตฤกษ์ ผู้สนใจสอบถามรายเพิ่มเติมที่ Call Center การรถไฟแห่งประเทศไทย โทร. 1690
