MOT has approved the logistic plan for Year 2006 - 2010 ...
SRT got a fair share for this matter

Than Setthakij - July 23-26, 2006

1) Chachongsao - Sri Racha - Laem Chabang Double tracking of 5.23365 billion Baht. Now, SRT is calling a bid for contractor to handle this project.

This will help SRT to run more trips for a lucrative ICD - Laem Chabang route from 24 trips a day to 48-50 trips a day Shocked while allowing SRT to run Ordinary 283/284 as a daily basis or even extend Sprinter aircon commuter from Chachongsao to Pattaya if requested ....

Note: The existing line from Chachongsao to Laem Chabang also needs to get some rehab, replacing 70-80 lb/yard rail with 100 lb weldedd steel rail with monoblock sleepers and deeper/cleased ballasting ....

2) Chachongsao - Klong Sip Kao - Kaeng Khoi double tracking. This will allow SRT to shorten the time for cargo service along Kaeng Khoi - Klong Sip kao route while introducing a new commuter service/special express along Kaeng Khoi - Klong 19 - Chachongsao route.

3) Kaeng Khoi - Nakhon Ratchasima - Thanon Jira double tracking. This will allow faster/more frequent trains to Khorat along with some cargo route whcih have to pass the troublesome Kaengkhoi - Pakchong route ....

4) Double tracking from Lopburi to Nakhon Sawan to support rice exportation through container trains.

5) the 3rd track from Ban Phachi to Lopburi

6) the new bypass route from Wiharn daeng to Ban Phachi via Nong Khae to allow faster cartgo route from the North to Laem Chabang while avoiding the conflicts with commuter services to Ban Phachi, Lopburi and Kaneg Khoi

7) the new Kuan Niang - Pak Bara route for Pak bara deep sea port along with Kuan Niang - New Songkla dep Sea Port

Project 6) and 7) has a budget of 5.04 billion Baht

It's time to make a survey trip to Kuan Niang very soon.

I would like to know

- The reason of selection of this route. (compare to other routes)
- Who/which company is the consulting engineer who make a decision ?

Kyuan Niang - Pak bara route (110 km) is the ideal route since it is shorter thant Hat Yai - Pak bara route (130 km).

Even thoguh teh route from Trang to Pak Bara is shorter (100 km), it has to pass through National park alogn with Mangrove Forest .... a thing the Ministry of natural Resource and Environment would FROWN UPON. Sad

You better ask Papa Nathapong about the consultant company who adviced OPort Authority and MOT abotu the ideal railway route to Pak bara

Thanks.

There is a thesis about this rail line, I'll contact the researcher (a SRT crew) soon.

Jeff, I'm not so sure if Ai Ph...g is going to approve the plan for adding the 3rd track from Ban Phachi to Lopburi alogn with double trackingfrom Lopburi to Nakhon Sawan to speed up the container trains with TONS of rice alogn with other Northern cargo trains ... even though double tracking from Lopburi to Naklhon Sawan (Nong Pling, Not pak Nam pho though) is a forgone conclusion.

However, such a plan will start ONLY After the doubel tracking from Kaeng Khoi to Chachongsao as well as Chachongsao to Laem Chabang are DONE though.

Ha ….P’Ming

At Khonkaen
From Topic: I’m thinking is root West – East Corridor to Da-Nang & Kham-Rahn Port.
This way cross Kong river at Mukdahann and PHOO PHA TEE in Laos( tunnel or roads on mountain).
In this case who is supply from loans?
The construction company is answer from question or not…..?

How to management in this area no config of interest and win, win for Thai people.
This is big game in Asian logistic system management to support the factory of the World
(China =Dragon).

On July 29, 2006
If P’Ming joins the Seminar.
Please share in topic and detail in this board.
Many thanks…….dea’ kab

On July 29, 2006

I'm not sure I could join, even though I wanna join very much.

My wife have to go Chiang Mai so I have to take care my kid. Crying or Very sad

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would like to see and talk about this plan something like...............

Do you know the position of the new Songkhla sea port ?

I'm afraid of protesting of this project from someone who call themself NGO.

The problem of deep sea port is maintainance of the depth of the ship route.
Songkhla port's depth was 9 m and now only 6 m or less.

The new track to Satun
we should not only consider the shortest route (from the existing line) but also consider where the goods/products to export come from. And then find the shortest route from those we want to export to the existing track (and sea port).

One problem of Songkhla port is "the amount of export are more than the amount of import".
So we have to bring empty containers from somewhere else to pack our goods to export.
