In addition to the daily fixed train pairs, the railway industry added two trains to serve the increased travel demand of people during this year's National Day holiday.
In addition to the daily fixed trips, on the occasion of this year's National Day, the railway industry added 2 trains running on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route.
A representative of the Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that up to this point, the trains from Hai Phong to Hanoi on the occasion of National Day, September 2, have been almost fully booked with about more than 4,000 seats.
To serve travel needs, especially passengers going to Hanoi to watch the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Thang Tam Revolution and National Day September 2 (A80), the railway industry has organized additional passenger trains on the Hanoi - Hai Phong route.
In addition to the 4 pairs of Hoa Phuong Do trains running daily, the railway industry added 2 more trains LP9 and LP10 from August 30 to September 2. The additional trips all depart from Hanoi in the morning and from Hai Phong in the afternoon.
To serve the A80 event, some trains on the route will adjust their departure or arrival stations. Many trains will depart or end their journey at Long Bien station instead of Hanoi station.
During the holidays, the railway industry still applies discounts on tickets for policy beneficiaries such as war invalids, people with disabilities, the elderly, children, and students. When buying round-trip tickets, customers receive a 5% discount on the return price for individuals and 7% for groups of 20 or more.

Strive to completely eliminate self-opened paths across railways
08/24/2025 10:49
Determined to eliminate self-opened railway crossings, Hai Phong city has increased propaganda, inspection and handling of violations to ensure traffic safety and prevent re-encroachment.
Workers of Ha Hai Railway Joint Stock Company install corrugated iron fences to clear the self-made walkway in Viet Hoa ward.
Danger lurks
More than 3 years have passed, but every time the tragic railway traffic accident that occurred in June 2022 at km 74+950 in Kim Xuyen commune, Kim Thanh district in the past, now Phu Thai commune, Hai Phong city, is mentioned, many people in Quynh Khe village cannot help but feel sorry because the victim was an 8-year-old child. The place where the child had the accident was a self-opened path that is now fenced off, but the pain of losing a loved one still lingers. Ms. Luong Thi Hong, the victim's grandmother, recounted that at 8:00 a.m. that morning, her two grandchildren, NNL, born in 2014, and NTNPh., born in 2011, in Quynh Khe village, invited each other to ride their bicycles to play. When crossing the railway, they were hit by a train, L. died on the spot, and P. was seriously injured. Every time the accident was mentioned, Ms. Hong could not hold back her tears for her obedient and polite little grandchild.
The common feature of self-opened railway crossings is that they do not have barriers or railway staff assigned to guard the crossing, so they become "black spots" with potential risks of railway traffic accidents. Some crossings are the only way into residential areas, the way to fields, cultivated land, or even just the entrance to a house... Therefore, when the railway industry installs barriers to eliminate self-opened crossings, it is difficult.
Mr. Pham Thanh Thao, Deputy Captain of Hai Duong Road Team of Ha Hai Railway Joint Stock Company, said that to ensure railway traffic safety, the company coordinates with functional departments to inspect, review, and develop plans to eliminate self-made paths. The unit coordinates with local authorities to strengthen propaganda, mobilize, and find new paths to create consensus and support from the people. The unit is also actively implementing the elimination of self-made paths.
Resolutely handle it thoroughly
In the first 7 months of 2025, Hai Phong city did not have any self-opened paths, and at the same time, 94 self-opened paths were eliminated, mainly in the old Kim Thanh district. Currently, the western area of Hai Phong is continuing to invest in the construction of about 6 km of service roads, expected to be completed this year. When the service road sections are completed, they will form a complete service road system and eliminate all self-opened paths in the western area of Hai Phong.
For the Eastern Hai Phong area, there are still 3 self-opened railway crossings at km 85+955, km 93+602 and km 101+275 of the Gia Lam - Hai Phong railway line. Localities are organizing the construction of 3 feeder roads expected to be completed in 2025, and will eliminate 2 self-opened crossings at km 85+955, km 93+602. For the self-opened crossing at km 101+275 of the Gia Lam - Hai Phong railway line, the Department of Construction assigned a specialized unit to repair and maintain the feeder road from km 101+275 to km 101+319 (from the self-opened crossing - Cau Dat crossing) on the left side of the railway line to ensure traffic safety for people living on the left side of the railway line and as a basis for eliminating the self-opened crossing in the third quarter of 2025.
With high determination, Hai Phong strives to completely eliminate self-opened paths by the end of 2025. Along with resolutely handling self-opened paths, Hai Phong strictly manages land in the railway traffic corridor to ensure safety and minimize the risk of railway traffic accidents. Constructions that directly affect the road are completely cleared, ensuring a safe traffic corridor. For residential constructions that exist within the railway corridor but have not been compensated or cleared, and do not affect train safety, the locality mobilizes households to sign a commitment not to build, expand or carry out activities that endanger railway traffic safety.
The City Traffic Safety Committee directed sectors and localities to strengthen management and ensure railway traffic safety and order; coordinate to well manage railway traffic safety corridors and promptly handle violations.
Hai Phong City currently has about 119 km of railway including 2 Gia Lam - Hai Phong lines about 92 km long and Kep - Ha Long line, Chi Linh - Co Thanh branch line. Of which, Gia Lam - Hai Phong railway line has a lot of train traffic. By the end of 2024, the whole city will have more than 160 self-opened paths, of which the old Kim Thanh district has the most.
