September 25, 2024: A new 'point indicator lamp' and 'switch lever counterweight' has been made and is ready for installation. The old counterweight, used as a model for this new one, was originally manufactured in 1912, the same year the Songkhla railway line was laid during the reign of King Rama VI.

September 26, 2024: The southern Christina tree near the cargo trucks was adversely affected by the heat, oil vapor, and the inconvenience of municipal vehicles for watering. Consequently, it appeared less fresh and beautiful than the trees on the northern side and in front of the station.

The current mayor of Songkhla is explaining the decision regarding the overpass and the train in front of Songkhla Railway Station.
Regarding the overpass, the mayor said that the pillars will not be demolished immediately. The reason is that they need to consult with the school first to see if the overpass is still necessary. If the school says it is not needed, the mayor will proceed with the demolition of the pillars.
Regarding the train, the mayor said that it is a bigger problem because the project has been there for many years. The mayor himself is not familiar with the details of the project because he has just taken office. He questioned the necessity of preserving the train because there are many other areas that need development. He will discuss with the relevant people to see if it is worth preserving and maintaining the train. The mayor said that a committee will be set up to discuss what to do with the train. He will inform the council after a decision has been made.

The Songkhla Station Railway Track Restoration Project, carried out by the Songkhla Municipality, was successfully completed on September 25, 2024.
However, achieving the goal of making this space a place for learning about the development of our city, preserving a site of significant historical value, and ensuring sustainability will still require cooperation from all parties.
As for the restoration of locomotives and carriages, given the current economic situation, it may take a miracle. Lets hope that the Surat Thani-Hat Yai-Songkhla double-track railway project gets underway soon instead.
The wooden station sign installed behind the station (in the style of Hua Hin Stations sign) has deteriorated. It was installed in late 2015, and it's now almost 9 years old.
The northern side of the station building is currently overshadowed, hiding the beauty of the structure. Managing the cleanliness and aesthetics of the station, including its facilities, is important. Restaurants and other conveniences are essential for attracting tourists, and the shops at the station play a role in maintaining the site, giving us peace of mind.
Additionally, I noticed that there are educational signs at the Songkhla Old Town Wall. If similar signs could be placed in front of the station building, especially around the old platform area, it would significantly increase the site's appeal.
