Hi Folks,
Well, I've signed up to help boost the number of foreign railfans. Thanks for the previous interest in my website by the way!
I'm in Bangkok to have a look at the progress on the various rail and metro projects here. Which leads me into my first question. Is there an up to date map that shows the different routes of all the projects that are under construction at the moment?
Regards,
Paul |

Khun Paul,
At least, purple line (Bangsue - Bang Yai - Klong phai) is under construction - after being delayed by the flood of 2011.
For the case of Phetkasem extension of BTS Skytrain, now, Phonimit station and Talad Ploo station (Ratchada - Tha Phra station) under construction - after being delayed by the flood of 2011.
Forthe case of Pak Nam extension (Bearing - Samrong - Samut Prakarn), now, the contractor (Ch. Karn Chang PCL) just came to the construction site. Let's see if they can finish the job by the end of 2015 or early 2016.
Red line commuter from Bangsue to Talingchan is almost done without electrification. However Bangsue Central (as a part of Bangsue - Rangsit section of red line commuter) has not been started yet because the bidding price of the contractor is a lot higher than the medium price ... the red tape has cause the medium price much lower than the marke price which is supposed to be. |

Khun Wisarut,
Many thanks for that information. I've been researching the new construction most of the day so I know where to go and what to look at, but your information is a great help.
I'm not surprised that the floods have caused so many delays as I saw the effects when I arrived in November last year.
The situation with the interchange station at Bang Sue sounds like it's going to create a lot of problems and delays... |

Thanks for those links. I'm afraid that I can't read Thai but I appreciate the pictures!
I had a look at some of the work going on around Bang Sue yesterday. The pictures are in this gallery:

Just choose the photo in question and then you can raise the issue!
One thing to be sure, The line from Bearing to Samut Prakarn will be opened in 2017. |

Khun Wisarut,
I'm a guest here remember - it's your site, so I'd hardly expect everything to be in English!
Hopefully, when I have questions it might be possible for the Thai/English speakers to be able to translate/help. |

Just browsing to find the photo you like to see and and then ask us about the photographs in question and that's it! |
