Thipadee Watthanakul, Director of the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO), revealed that SEPO will closely monitor the disbursement of state enterprise investment budgets to ensure investments meet targets, thus supporting economic growth and enhancing the country's competitiveness. Currently, 43 state enterprises have disbursed a total investment budget of 150,401 million baht. However, some state enterprises, including the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA), Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA), Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), and PTT Public Company Limited, have lower-than-planned disbursements.
Among the state enterprises that have achieved a disbursement rate of not less than 95% of their planned budget are SRT, MRTA, MWA, EGAT, PEA, and PTT Public Company Limited.
Notably, major investment projects that have disbursed above plan include the MRTA's Purple Line project (Tao Poon-Rat Burana segment), EGAT's joint investment in the second LNG Receiving Terminal at Ban Nong Fab, and the cooperation project between the Thai government and the Chinese government to develop the high-speed rail system linking Bangkok to Nong Khai, part of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project by SRT.
