So far, I see the first 4 Subway lines ...

The red line (the 1st line) looks so cramp and worn out due to heavy use ....
similar thing can be said to the green line (the 2nd line) ...

The 3rd and the 4th line are quite better .... nott so sardine can as the first
2 line... even though the 3rd line olling stocks have show some worn out signs ....

Line 1 and line 2has Samsung LCD screens installed .... but Line 3 DID NOT
ONLY some of Line 4 have Samsung LCD ... some did not have TV screen installed
even all subway trains have the running LCD screen showign the name of the next station ... in Chinese and English

The station use LG TV Screen showign the next train ....

Lien 4 looks very new ... the rollign stock for the 4th line are produed by
CSR-Siemens .... while the rolling stocks for Line 1-2 is produced by ADRAZ-Siemens
Ther 3rd line roling stocvks is produced by ALSTOM though ...

The undergroudn stations for the 4th Line (Purple line) have screen doors though ... whiel
the underground section of Line 1-2 did NOT have screen doors ....

It seems to me thar Shanghai Metro did not have a free copoy of Subway Maps ... even the Subway Guide in Major Bookstores in Shanghai are Printed in Chiense -> NOT have any of English version!

Now Shanghai Metro is using Smart Card system whcih can be used on the Bus .

Ticket price for Shanghai Bus is 2 RMB

SHanghai Metro ticket is 3-7 RMB ....

Okay ... Some More Info

1) Now, Shanghai metro has used Smart cards ... can be purchased at TVMs and the windows ... The stored value card costs 100 RMB -. 70 RMB for using and the otehr 30 RMB for Deposit -. to be returned after returining the card

2) TVM machines for Line 1 (North - South Line) and Line 2 (East - West line) can accept banknotes and coins while TVMs for Line 3-4 (the shared elevated stations) used Coin ONLY station ...

3) The undergroudn section of Line 4 or the new section) has screen doors and TVM machines whcih cna accept the banknotes

4) Line 3 (yellow line) and Line 4 (purple Ring) has share the track from Hogn Qiao station
to Bao Shan station .... ... inlcudign hte undergroudn section t Shang Hai station ....

5) Purple Ring is to relive the congestion of Line 2 (east - west) since it pass both Dong fang station in Pudong and Zhong Shan Park station in Shang hai ...

6) Yellow line is to relive the congestion of Line 1 (Norht - South) since it interchanges
with Shang Hai station and Shanghai South station ....

7) TVMs of Lien 1-2 could accpet banknotes ... but those who use TVMs MUST know beforehand how much they are goign to spend for each ticket ...

Papa nathapong,

Well, It seems to me that I have LITTLE time to go to Shanghai Railway station and take a photo of Chinese Locos .... Sad ONLY Shanghai Metro are the one I have taken a photo ...

It seems to me that Line 3 is running from 7 AM to 9 PM while the Puirple Ring is runing from 7 AM to 10 PM .... NOT so good for BKK since all the subway-skytrain in BKK must run from 6 AM to Midnight ... even though our people want the system to run from 5 AM to 1AM ..... Laughing This woudl require a quick maintinanace or so ... and more worker to work on the night shift maintianance of the tracks and rolign stocks .... Laughing

// ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Click on the image for full size

Reginal Express

(Fujin Lu)
(Xizang Nan Lu) - (22.6 km)

(Maglev)
