CLASS 'ALSTHOM'/AHK/ALD/ADD DIESEL

State Railway of Thailland (SRT) Classes 'Alsthom'/AHK/ALD and ADD

This group of essentially similar French-designed classes is the most numerous main line type operating in Thailand, with over 100 examples in traffic, handling both freight and passenger traffic.

SPECIAL FEATURES

These versatile mixed traffic locomotives were supplied to an Alsthom design between 1975 and 1985. Most were built in France but the German manufacturers Henschel and Krupp assisted with construction of the 30 Class AHK machines. Accounting for over one third of the SRT main line fleet, these locomotives are seen over the entire system
