A/S Frichs began various sales activities and could 1930 a prestigious export order win: RSR (Royal State Railways planned a fundamental modernization and set thereby on the then fire-new diesel electric traction.
To A/S Frichs was issued a large order over six express train locomotives, one heavy goods train double locomotive and six motor coaches, all in 1000 mm gauge. None of these samples was before built, let alone tested on tropical conditions.
Beyond that the order for the company with its 650 employees was actually large too, so that new work buildings became necessary and around the clock had to be worked.
With some delay however all vehicles could be taken 1931-32 in enterprise and woke general enthusiasm: So a locomotive of the series of 551-556 could carry "Internationally the express (Bangkok - Padang Pesar) over a distance of approximately 1000 km without refueling and the travel time around four hour shorten than the 22 hours of that day.
However, further procurements were CANCELLED since Siam experienced 1932 an economic crisis and a revolution.
For A/S Frichs ended the business for lack of foreign experience and unexpected exchange rate fluctuations with loss (Pricing when 1 GBP = 8 Baht but hte actual payment is when 1 GBP = 11 Baht).
With the Siam coup of 1932, A/S Frichs belonged over night internationally to the pioneers of the diesel electric drive and received among experts world-wide attention. Beginning of the 1930er years acquired the British Vulcan Foundry Ltd., Newton le Willows, the French Corpet Louvet, the Finnish Tammerfors, the Swedish Kockum and the Netherlands Thomassen & CO. Licenses to the building of Frichs Dieseltechnik. Despite different negotiations with Iraq, Chile, Argentina and others, further considerable international orders were not received however, s. appendix.
In Denmark followed numerous orders for different vehicles, whose technical execution and Design were taken over to a large extent by the export models: To FCB 1932 the two heavy diesel locomotives was handed over to MX 131 and 132 as well as the four motor coaches of the row MQ(I). The car boxes of these and all following Frichs vehicles were implemented in complete steel construction method. A/S Frichs appeared now as a prime contractor, used however mostly supplied car boxes of Scandia.
Siam/Thailand
The Royal State Railways of Siam (today's State Railways of Thailand ) gave A/S Frichs 1930 a large order over diesel electric vehicles for 1000 mm trace: Six express train locomotives (No. 551-556), one heavy goods train locomotive (No. 601) and six motor coaches (RM 11-16) for the suburban traffic in Bangkok (BKK - Klong Rangsit).
The motor coaches were equipped with two flight compartments and like a semi-trailer split, the passenger part of Scandia offered 56 seats. Most vehicles got over the Second World War and in the middle of the 1960er years were decomissioned and scrapped.
Into the 1950er years received A/S Frichs still another larger order for spare parts, new vehicles however were not to no more ordered. NO. 556. NO 601 and RM 15 are received, to s. illustrations.
