I'm concerned about the presence of vendors selling goods on the train platform on Sundays when the market is held. There used to be signs prohibiting this, but I'm not sure what the current regulations are. I'm worried that the number of vendors will continue to increase and become unmanageable, similar to what happened in 1980 when the train service was stopped for just two years and people built houses all over the tracks.

On October 3, 2024, engineering officials from Songkhla City Municipality surveyed the scope of work for railway track restoration. Mr. Panasan Kontarak, the chief work supervisor, photographed trees obscuring the station building to coordinate with relevant officials for pruning, as previously requested by Uncle Wiang's Tea Shop.
A man created a wooden popsicle stick model of the Songkhla Railway Station for the 2024 Lak Phra Festival. The collection also includes models of other stations like Hua Hin Station, Kantang Station, and Ban Pha Tham Ma Rong.
The creator displays these models every year to raise donations for medical equipment for Songkhla Hospital, despite having no direct connection to the hospital. After each exhibition, he stores the models at his home. He's an ordinary citizen with no formal architectural training - just a train enthusiast who builds these models based on photographs. Interestingly, in the case of Kantang Station, he only visited it in person after completing the model.
He invested several tens of thousands of baht in a miniature train set complete with tracks, but due to frequent rain, he had to pack it away in storage. The donations he receives go toward purchasing patient transfer beds for the hospital.

October 21, 2024: A month has passed, and today the "clearance point marker" has been relocated to the correct position in accordance with railway regulations. Thank you to those responsible for the Songkhla Municipality railway restoration project for paying close attention to the details.
