Update HSR Thailand from Kaengkhoi to Muaklek in Jul 2025

Jul 9, 2025

**Touch CC for your subtitles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_h1fe6lUR-I

Continuing from the previous clip of contract 4-7

It will be contract 3-1 that we watch regularly

Starting at the beginning of contract 3-1 at the container loading point

At Kaeng Khoi Junction..
1 month has passed, the first pier has been casted..

And it should follow closely because they are drilling and casting piles

And making foundations at the same time..

Long until crossing the road to the end of the line
Entering the Chinee Ville Village
And driving piles across the track that we are riding to the Thap Kwang School side

Contract 3-1 is fast..

But in this clip, we only watch up to Muak Lek first..
The clip will be too long...
The construction continues until Muak Lek Station..
There is a tunnel and a running track between the tunnels.
It is contract 3-2, and it continues..

Let's go watch the clip..This clip is not long..😊😊

Construction of the high-speed railway from Muak Lek to Pak Chong in early July 2025

Continuing from the previous clip

Let's continue from Muak Lek to Klang Dong Pang Asok, the horse stairs to Pak Chong first.
There is continuous construction.
The day we went to film was July 4, 2025.
Starting from the staff housing area at Muak Lek Station.
They have started to demolish it to make way for pile driving..
Clearing the area continuously..
Then they will open the hole to cast the foundation before reaching the bridge over the Muak Lek Canal.
They have a lot of it..
After crossing the Muak Lek Canal and going until before reaching Nam Phu Temple, they are also preparing to cast the foundation..
You can see that at Nam Phu Temple.. a new crematorium has been built..
This means that the original crematorium must be demolished.. to make way for construction..
Crossing the track around the Muak Lek basin to the middle of the forest.
At the bridge neck before going down to the balm factory..
The piers are being casted to support the runway all the way to the balm factory..
Then it will be a long ground level route cutting straight into the railway area.
After passing the Central Dong station, it will continue with Contract 1-1.

The area is being cleared to continue with the ground level runway.
Last month, it was still covered with forest.
Straight from Pang Asok station.
It is continuing..
Preparing to be an elevated runway to divert to the other side.
And at the beginning of Contract 3-1, after removing the old track,
they have entered the area to dig and cast piles..
You will soon see the piers being raised.. after waiting for a long time..
This clip will only go to Pak Chong.. The next clip will continue..

Anyway, go watch the clip. 😊😊

SRT to Pursue PPP Model for High-Speed Rail (Thai-Chinese) Bangkok - Nong Khai Line

Bangkok Business, July 14, 2025, 2:41 PM

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is accelerating the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project! Tomorrow marks the first public forum to push forward with a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, inviting private sector participation in the management and operation of the entire Bangkok - Nong Khai route. The SRT is also preparing the Terms of Reference (TOR) for the tender of the second phase, Nakhon Ratchasima - Nong Khai, spanning 357.12 kilometers with a budget exceeding 341 billion baht.

According to a source from the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), tomorrow (July 15) the SRT will host an introductory seminar (orientation) for the "Project Study, Review, and Feasibility Analysis for the Preparation of Tender Documents and Operations under the Public-Private Partnership Act B.E. 2562 (2019)" for the "Cooperation Project between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the People's Republic of China (Thai-Chinese High-Speed Rail) for the Development of a High-Speed Rail System to Connect Regions, Bangkok - Nong Khai Section."

The forum aims to clarify information regarding the study, review, and feasibility analysis for considering the private sector's joint investment in developing the high-speed rail system, covering the project management and operation of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail along the entire Bangkok - Nong Khai route. The SRT aims to conclude this study within this year before submitting the feasibility study results and the PPP model to the Cabinet for approval to proceed with the PPP tender for private sector investment.

---

Scope of the Feasibility Study

The study, review, and feasibility analysis of the project will cover:

1. Feasibility Study: This includes forecasting passenger numbers, technical aspects, pricing, economic and financial considerations, and the System Operation Plan.
2. Project Analysis under PPP Act: This involves studying and analyzing the project as stipulated in the Public-Private Partnership Act B.E. 2562 (2019) and its amendments, along with relevant regulations and laws, project risks, alternative options, and models for public-private joint investment, including the division of returns between the state and the private sector.

---

Project Progress and Future Plans

The report also indicates that this year will see tangible progress on the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail project. Civil construction work will be put up for tender and piling will commence for the second phase, Nakhon Ratchasima - Nong Khai. Currently, the SRT is in the process of preparing the Terms of Reference (TOR), expected to be issued within July. Similarly, for the rolling stock system, the investment model and private sector participation will be finalized. These expedited efforts aim to ensure readiness for the launch of the first phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed rail, Bangkok - Nakhon Ratchasima, which is scheduled to open in 2029.

---

Nakhon Ratchasima - Nong Khai Section Details

The second phase of the Thai-Chinese high-speed train, the Nakhon Ratchasima - Nong Khai section, spans 357.12 kilometers with a total investment value of 341,351.42 million baht. This is broken down into:

* Civil works: 235,129 million baht
* Land expropriation and compensation: 10,310 million baht
* Investment in rail systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems: 80,165 million baht
* Consulting fees for project management, supervision, and system certification: 10,060 million baht

According to the operational plan, the SRT will open an e-bidding tender for 10 contracts: 9 civil works contracts and 1 system installation and signaling contract. The structural design has been studied to minimize impact on the public, with 202.48 kilometers of elevated track and 154.64 kilometers of at-grade track. The line will serve 5 major stations:

1. Bua Yai Station
2. Ban Phai Station
3. Khon Kaen Station
4. Udon Thani Station
5. Nong Khai Station

---

Technical Specifications and Travel Times

The project design features a track gauge of 1.435 meters. Trains can reach a maximum speed of 250 kilometers per hour, with an average operating speed of 192 kilometers per hour.

* Travel time from Bangkok to Nakhon Ratchasima: Approximately 1 hour and 26 minutes.
* Travel time from Nakhon Ratchasima to Nong Khai: Approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
* Total travel time from Bangkok to Nong Khai (via Nakhon Ratchasima): Approximately 3 hours and 28 minutes.

---

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) is ready to adjust the format of the High-Speed Rail Project (Bang Pa-in Junction – Nakhon Ratchasima section) according to the concerns of local residents.

Published: July 14, 2068 17:20 | Updated: July 14, 2068 17:20 | By: Manager Online

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) affirms its commitment to listening to public opinion and is prepared to adjust the project format in response to local concerns regarding the Bangkok – Nakhon Ratchasima High-Speed Rail Project, specifically the section from Ban Phachi Junction to Nakhon Ratchasima, to ensure long-term sustainability for communities.

In response to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC)'s statement that the Bangkok – Nakhon Ratchasima High-Speed Rail Project, particularly the Ban Phachi Junction – Nakhon Ratchasima section, violated human rights due to a lack of public participation in Nong Saeng District, Saraburi Province, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) wishes to clarify that the SRT has not been negligent regarding any public concerns.

For the Bangkok – Nakhon Ratchasima High-Speed Rail Project, two official Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports have been prepared: the first in 2013, conducted by the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP) in collaboration with the MAA Consulting Group, and the second in 2017, which was a report on changes to project details. Both reports have been approved by the National Environment Board.

Regarding concerns about the at-grade embankment construction style that may affect the way of life, communities, and environment in Nong Saeng District, the SRT has not been negligent and has considered appropriate solutions. The construction style for some sections has been adjusted to include a bridge overpass approximately 400 meters long to connect areas on both sides of the community, reducing impacts on traffic, scenery, and drainage. This is currently in the detailed design phase for construction.

Concerning the NHRC's observations regarding the public participation process in the EIA preparation, the SRT confirms its continuous commitment to listening to public opinions and is ready to improve and develop the public participation process for other projects to comply with international human rights principles and guidelines from the Office of Natural Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning.

The SRT affirms its dedication to developing modern rail mass transit projects for the benefit of the nation, while remaining open to listening and working with people in all areas to foster mutual understanding, minimize impacts, and create long-term sustainability for communities.
