Naypyidaw-Mandalay train route to be converted to battery-electric locomotives
Naypyidaw-Mandalay and Mandalay-Naypyidaw trains will be converted to battery-electric locomotives using modern air-conditioned air-conditioned coaches starting from (November 22).
The Ministry of Transport and Communications, Myanmar Railways is planning to make rail travel more convenient for the public.
Previously, the Naypyidaw-Mandalay and Mandalay-Naypyidaw trains were converted to battery-electric locomotives.
This is a better option. It would be more convenient to continue from Yangon to Mandalay. Previously, I had to change coaches in Naypyidaw to Mandalay and then take the RBE from DEMU. I think it will be better now, wrote a social media user.
Currently, the Yangon-Naypyidaw, The Naypyidaw-Yangon train journey is also being operated by DEMU trains, with a fare of 28,000 kyats for upper class and 19,000 kyats for first class.
Report on the shortcomings of Battery powered MU
EPL Locomotives and Chief Engineers
==================================
The problem is that among the railway employees, those who are happy and well-off and retire with their own houses and personal circle are the locomotive drivers and chief engineers of the Railway Engineering Department.
I have heard a lot of talk that when battery locomotives are replaced, their work will almost certainly be lost. If we look at this positively, it will be quite economical. Since there will be less waste, the budget can be used more where it is needed, and the oil problem will not have to worry anymore.
Since we are civil servants, we have to do whatever is necessary for the state and the people, so the Railway Engineering Department should be proud of us.

In this video, I'm going to show you how I bought advance train tickets and the train ride experience from Yangon to Bago. To avoid risk, I would like to suggest buying advance tickets at the Yangon Railway Advance Ticket Office.
Heres what you need to know:
Upper-class tickets sell three days in advance.
First-class and ordinary-class tickets sell one day in advance.
A one-way upper-class DEMU train ticket for the Yangon-Bago journey costs 6000 Ks. First-class DEMU train ticket costs 4000 Ks.
On 22 November 2025, it will be opened and operated with EPL locomotives.
===========================================
As requested by the majority of travelers, the Mandalay-Nay Pyi Taw RBE will be replaced with EPL battery locomotives, with 2 upper class and 2 air-conditioned ordinary classes. We welcome and congratulate the opening ceremony by high-ranking officials at the national level and high-ranking officials of the railway.
May the railway continue to serve the travelers with greater success as a train lover.
Before the grand opening ceremony began, I saw some sad things. Why are the railway officials so busy? I accept that the opening ceremony of the train is a memorable event and a milestone. The lower officials are more afraid than necessary. The responsibilities they are carrying out should always be subject to inspection. The stations are not the same as before. I don't want them to be sparkling clean. The work that adults do, such as cleaning trees and cleaning uniforms, is a regular daily task, so it's sad to see that adults are making a big fuss.
Our department should always be subject to inspection. The adults who do it don't know that the bottom of the train is going up, but the blind can see it. Are they deliberately trying to prevent them from doing it?

To expedite land expropriation for the 409.96-kilometer Muse-Mandalay railway, worth US$8.9 billion, comprising 124 bridges, 60 tunnels, and 11 power substations, Burmese soldiers attacked villages along the route, resulting in over 60 deaths and over 130 injuries.
The railway uses electricity from dams on the Shweli, Namtu, Myitnge, and Salween rivers to power the 11 power substations.

MGR Online - The State Security and Peace Committee (SSPC) appointed General Myat Htun Oo as chairman of the committee to advance the Muse-Mandalay railway project. The goal is to connect transportation and freight from the coastal city of Kyaukphyu, Rakhine State, to China via the Shan State border.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing told the meeting that the Beijing-Kunming-Ruili-Museum-Mandalay-Kyaukphyu railway is one of the large-scale cooperation projects between China and Myanmar, playing a role comparable to the Kyaukphyu deep-sea port project, the Chinese gas and oil pipeline project from Kyaukphyu to China, and the Myitsone hydroelectric dam project in Kachin State.
According to the project's overall picture, once construction of the Muse-Mandalay railway begins, the Myanmar Railways plans to extend the railway from Mandalay down to Kyaukphyu, Rakhine State, to complete the transportation route for goods from the coasts of the Bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean to China at the Muse border checkpoint.

Ma's Myit Nge
When we talk about the Myanmar Railway, Myit Nge is also not forgotten!
A railway has a locomotive in front and a passenger carriage and freight carriage in the back! That is why the Insein Locomotive Factory was built in 1875 before the railway started running.
When the history of railways in Myanmar began in 1877, the Insein Locomotive Factory was already ready.
After the British took over the whole country,
with the expansion of railways from Mandalay to Myitkyina! Lashio, etc.,
the Myit Nge in central Burma was chosen to build a carriage repair factory.
The central point of the railways is Myit Nge, not far from Mandalay, next to the Duthawaddy River!
It became a textile factory in 1905.
When I was young, I used to travel by train from Yangon to Mandalay. I saw Thar Si, 80 miles from Mandalay.
It was a hot and dry region, dominated by thorny bushes and desert plants.
It was a dry place.
After crossing that, the places like Hanza and the desert are also dry images.
But when we arrived at the Kyaukse Dam,
the green fields and the misty forests that match the name of the Kyaukse Dam were a joy to see.
After crossing the Kyaukse Dam, Sint Kaing and Plaek,
the Myit Nge River was waiting for us.
It was a pleasant town with small streets among the trees.
The factory complex with train cars on the left side of the railway is the embodiment of the Myit Nge River.
If you take the train from Lashio to Pyin Oo Lwin,
you will see Dholawaddy on the left side of the train.
The Myit Nge River used to be at the level of the Pyin Oo Lwin Railway.
After the Second World War,
the work was expanded to build new trains.
Due to the Second World War,
70% of the railway tracks were damaged, and many locomotives and freight trains were also damaged. It was damaged by bullets
and bombs
so we had to buy new locomotives!
In addition to buying new coaches, locomotives were repaired and rebuilt, and new coaches were also built. Before World War I, the Myanmar Railways had over 1,500 miles of track and over 300 locomotives. Before World War II, in 1939, it had nearly 2,000 miles of track and 350 locomotives. After independence, Myit Nge became an important department for the Myanmar Railways, and the necessary locomotive repair and construction works began to fill the city with workers. The city was even called the city of employees. It was also a cute tradition for employees to sell their locomotives on payday (monthly price). After 1990, Myanmar Railways began to receive locomotives from China and the arrival of RBI from Japan, so the Myit Nge factory was overwhelmed with work. Myanmar has to change the gauge size to the meter gauge size, inspect the newly arrived airbag and air-conditioned coaches, and also build and produce 30 new BDTEZ and BDUEZ coaches. With the expansion of the railway industry, plans have been drawn up and implemented to build a new locomotive assembly plant in Naypyidaw and to upgrade the factory in Myitkyina. The projects were completed by the end of 2018. Workshops 2 and 3 in Myitkyina were expanded with modern cranes from China Hena Sinoko. It is also planned to build 80 Korean-designed coaches and 30 new Chinese-designed coaches in Workshops 2 and 3. According to the 2014 report, Myanmar Railways had 384 locomotives! There are 1,600 passenger coaches and 3,600 freight coaches. As the Insein Ywatung and Naypyidaw factories are working hard to ensure that the locomotives can run at full capacity, Myit Nge is also working hard to repair and build train coaches to provide passengers with a comfortable and high-quality ride. I believe that Ma Ma will be the favorite among tourists! (Written in 2022) https://www.facebook.com/groups/318065989204348/posts/1576860639991537/
