Greetings everyone, my name is Bagus, and I would like to share some photos of Indonesian railway. We have a diverse system of railway. From the beginning of railway, during Dutch colonial era, our railway consisted of several different private and government railways who plying Java and parts of Sumatera islands.

At one point, there was a plan to build railway network in Kalimantan/Borneo island and Sulawesi island. Unfortunately, none of them are present yet. Crying or Very sad

Anyway, I would like to share some of my photos.

Misty Malangbong station.

Argo Wilis express train, passing through a valley.

This train travel between Bandung and Surabaya in Java island, a distance about 700 km long.

The same train, unless hauled by different locomotive.

Pasundan economic class train, passes through a valley, with two active volcanoes in the background.

The volcano on the right is mount Papandayan who had major eruption in 2002.

The current zero kilometer in Java island is in Jakarta Kota station.

For South Sumatera, it's in Palembang Kertapati station.

For West Sumatera, it's in Padang.

Whereas in North Sumatera, it is in Medan station.

Bung bagus, I just wonder the way Indonesian railway has purchased the latest version of GE locomotives (CM20EMP locomotives) from USA at the price of just 120 Million Baht per locomotive instead of Chinese locomotives at 150 million Baht per locomotive

Yes, we purchase 100 of them. That's quite a staggering amount of purchase for locomotives.

So far, we have received two batches of them (the second batch arrived at 12th February 2013).

Another interesting locomotive. This one is designed and build in Indonesia.

I think we are the only country in South East Asia to operate long mining train. The ones that operated in similar manner with mining train in North America.

In this case is the coal train in South Sumatera.

Two EMD loco could pull as much as 50 coal hoppers.

The newer EMD GT38ACe could haul as much as 40 hopper alone.
