Nakhon Si Thammarat - A train collided with a car just 200 meters after leaving Thi Wang Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Fortunately, the train had not yet gained speed, resulting in the driver sustaining injuries from the impact, but the car was heavily damaged.
On August 16, Pol. Lt. Sunan Nunuong, an investigator from Kapang Police Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat, received a report of a car-train collision from the stationmaster at Thi Wang. The accident occurred at a railway crossing on Ban Thi Wang Road, about 200 meters from the station. Rescuers from Thung Songs Dragon Rescue Unit found a black sedan with the front severely damaged. The injured male driver was sent to Thung Song Hospital in a dazed state due to the impact.
The train involved in the accident was Train No. 167, running from Krungthep Aphiwat to Kantang. It had departed from Bangkok the previous night and was scheduled to arrive at Kantang Station at 11:25 AM. Shortly after leaving Thi Wang Station, the train only traveled 200 meters before the crash occurred. Luckily, the train had not yet accelerated, so the car only suffered damage to its front. However, the force of the collision caused injuries to the driver.
After the incident, the train stopped briefly before continuing its journey to Kantang Station. The train driver reported the accident to the stationmaster, who coordinated with investigators after the journey was completed.
