"Southern Thailand floods" cause severe disruption!** The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced changes to the origin and destination stations and the suspension of 10 train services on the southern line due to heavy flooding.
Continuous heavy rain in the southern region since November 26th has caused damage to the railway lines. As a result, the SRT has announced temporary changes to the origin and destination stations and the suspension of 10 train services on the southern line until the situation improves.

* Special Express Train 45/46 Bangkok Apiwat - Padang Besar - Bangkok Apiwat
* Rapid Train 171/172 Bangkok Apiwat - Sungai Kolok - Bangkok Apiwat
During this period of service adjustments and suspensions, the SRT emphasizes safety on the railway lines. SRT staff have been instructed to provide accommodation and amenities to affected passengers and closely monitor the flood situation 24 hours a day to ensure prompt response and mitigation. Once the floodwaters recede, the SRT will expedite track and signal system inspections to ensure passenger safety.
The SRT apologizes for any inconvenience caused. Passengers with tickets for affected routes who do not wish to travel can request a full refund at any railway station nationwide. For further information, please contact the Customer Service Center at 1690 (available 24 hours).

Yala, Thailand - The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) resumed limited train services in the southern border provinces today, following severe flooding that caused significant damage to the rail network.
The first train, No. 452, departed from Sungai Kolok and arrived at Yala station at 11:04 AM. Many passengers, eager to return home or purchase supplies after the floods, were seen utilizing the service. This train will return to Sungai Kolok from Yala at its usual departure time of 3:27 PM.
Mr. Thada Boonmuang, Yala Station Master, stated that the SRT is committed to alleviating hardship for the public by resuming services as quickly as possible. Repairs have been expedited on the Yala-Sungai Kolok line, allowing for this initial service. However, he cautioned that service will be limited to this single train between Yala and Sungai Kolok for the time being, with further updates provided daily as the situation evolves.
Services to Bangkok remain suspended due to ongoing flooding and damage near Pattani station. Passengers wishing to travel to Bangkok can board trains at Hat Yai Junction starting December 4th, when normal service between Hat Yai and Bangkok will resume.
Passengers who purchased tickets but were unable to travel due to the floods can obtain refunds at Yala station during business hours. For further inquiries about train services, passengers can contact the SRT hotline at 1690 or Yala station at 073-214207 or 073-211748.

**PM urges the Flood Relief Operation Center to expedite the reopening of transportation routes in the lower southern region. The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has reopened train services to Hat Yai this morning.**
December 4, 2024 - Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Flood Relief Operation Center, revealed that the Prime Minister has urged the Ministry of Transport to expedite the resolution of transportation issues, both road and rail, as quickly as possible. Late last night, a report was received from Mr. Virith Amrapal, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, and the SRT Safety Center, stating that the flooding situation affecting the southern railway lines has improved. Early this morning, the civil engineering department announced the completion of repairs on the damaged sections in Phatthalung province between Khuan Khiam - Hat Thao stations and Hat Thao - Khok Sai stations. This allows train services to resume to Hat Yai Junction since last night.
The SRT has reopened services for the following trains:
* Rapid Train No. 169
* Special Express Trains No. 31 and 37
These trains run from Bangkok Apiwat Station to Yala, with service resuming from Bangkok Apiwat to Hat Yai Junction starting this morning, December 4, 2024.
Meanwhile, northbound trains from Hat Yai to Bangkok, including Special Express Train No. 32 (Hat Yai Junction - Bangkok Apiwat), have resumed service from Hat Yai Junction to Bangkok Apiwat Station.
The State Railway also reported that Special Express Train No. 38, running from Su-ngai Kolok to Bangkok, can now travel from Hat Yai Junction to Bangkok. The section from Su-ngai Kolok to Hat Yai Station is still under repair and is expected to be completed by tomorrow, a public holiday.

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced the reopening of the southern line to Hat Yai Junction and the Yala - Sungai Kolok section, starting today, December 5, 2024.
Following the recent floods in the southern region, the SRT has been working to repair damaged railway lines. As a result, train services from Bangkok to Hat Yai Junction and the Yala - Sungai Kolok section have now resumed. The section between Hat Yai Junction and Yala is still under repair, including the signaling system, and will reopen as soon as possible.
Currently, the SRT has resumed operation of 6 trains:
* Special Express Train No. 31/32: Bangkok Apiwat - Hat Yai Junction - Bangkok Apiwat
* Special Express Train No. 45/46: Bangkok Apiwat - Padang Besar - Bangkok Apiwat
* Local Train No. 445/446: Chumphon - Hat Yai Junction - Chumphon
The SRT has also adjusted the starting and ending stations of 16 trains:
