Hanoi 'closes' the time to welcome passengers on the Nhon - Hanoi railway station

According to MRB's report, the overall progress of the urban railway line from Nhon - Hanoi station to date has reached 77.76%. Of which, the construction progress of the elevated section reached 99.65%, the underground section reached 37.25%. Quality and safety management has been improved, preventing unsafe incidents from occurring.
Hanoi will commercially exploit the elevated section of Nhon urban railway - Hanoi station in June 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Minh, Head of MRB, said that by the end of April 2024, this agency will complete the test operation of the Nhon - Hanoi Station elevated section.
The head of the MRB committee expects that by the end of June 2024, system safety certification and handover inspection will be completed by the investor to put the Nhon - Hanoi station urban railway line into commercial operation. upper section.
Giving a directive speech, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan said that the journey to build an urban railway network system is still long and the closer it gets to the finish line, the more difficult it becomes.
The City requires all officers, employees, and workers of MRB to be determined, overcome all challenges, act decisively, scientifically, effectively, and actively innovate to complete the task.
In particular, for the Nhon - Hanoi railway line, relevant units need to speed up operation and maintenance training, trial operation, and acceptance work, moving forward to bring the long elevated section 8.5km will be put into operation in June 2024.
The Nhon - Hanoi urban railway project is 12.5km long, with 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations. Of which, the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi Station) is 4km long.
In 2009, at the time of project commencement, Hanoi City planned to commercially exploit the Nhon - Hanoi railway station in 2015. At that time, the project had a total investment of 783 million Euro (capital loan 653 million Euro, counterpart capital 130 million Euro).
By 2014, the project's total investment was adjusted to 1,176 Million Euro (loan capital is 957.99 million Euro, counterpart capital is 218 million Euro).
Hanoi City has just assigned the relevant unit to research and invest in the construction of urban railway line No. 5 (Van Cao - Hoa Lac), with a length of more than 38km, total investment of 65,000,000 million VND.
Urban railway line No. 5 section Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac has a length of 38.43km, including 6.5km underground, 2km elevated and 29.93km above ground. Along the urban railway there are 21 stations and 2 depot areas.
Total investment for urban railway line No. 5 is about 65,000,000 million VND. (about 2,700 million USD), expected to be mobilized from five sources including:
Public investment capital and spending savings for the period 2021 - 2025 (about 15,000,000 million VND);
Proceeds from equitization and divestment of state-owned enterprises (about 18,000,000 - 20,000,000 million VND).
Hanoi plans to commercially exploit the Nhon - Hanoi railway station on April 30, 2024.

Hanoi plans to choose a medium-sized transport system (MRT) with train speed of about 120km/h, underground section of about 90km/h.
According to the plan, the Van Cao - Hoa Lac railway line will be invested in the period 2020 - 2025, tested and handed over at the end of 2025, accepted and settled in 2026 - 2027.
Hanoi's goal of testing the Van Cao - Hoa Lac railway by 2025 means that this railway will be invested in in a very short period of 2 - 3 years.
According to the current plan, Hanoi will have 10 urban railway lines, including 9 main lines and 1 line connecting satellite cities, with a total length of 417.8km, of which 75.6km is underground.
