Line 2 would share a depot at Sungai Buloh with MRT Line 1.

MALAYSIA: Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit appointed Gamuda and MMC Corp to form a joint venture to build Klang Valley MRT Line 2 on October 28.

The 56 km line would run from Sungai Buloh to Putrajaya via Serdang. At Sungai Buloh there would be a depot shared with MRT Line 1; Sungai Buloh would also offer interchange between the two lines.

Construction is expected to start next year and take five years to complete. The cost is estimated at 23bn ringgit and the project is included in the 2015 Malaysian budget.

The 51 km MRT Line 1 from Sungai Buloh to Kajang is around 50% complete. A proposed third line would follow a circular route.

บริษัท Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL), สั่งซื้อรถไฟฟ้าแบบ 4 ตู้ โดยความเร็วเดินทาง ที่ 160 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง สำหรับ KLIA Airport Transit จาก CNR Changchun [Changchun Railway Vehicles Co Ltd (CRC)] อีก 6 ชุดรถ (KLIA Express 2 ชุดรถ และ KLIA Transit 4 ชุดรถ) เพิ่มจากที่มีอยู่แล้ว 12 ชุดรถ เพื่อรองรับความต้องการของผู้โดยสารที่เดินทางไป KLIA2 ปีที่แล้ว ERL ต้องรองรับผู้โดยสาร 6.4 ล้านคน และ ปีหน้ารองรับ 9 ล้านคน โดยจะส่งมอบระหว่าง พฤษภาคมถึงพฤศจิกายน 2016 โดยต้องมีความกว้างเทียบได้กะรถไฟฟ้าของซีเมนส์ที่มีอยู่ - โดยมีแผนการต่อขยายไปมะละกาด้วย

บริษัท Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) ปฏิเสธข่าวลือว่า จะต่อขยาย MRT1 ไปที่ โครงการหมู่บ้าน City of Elmina บนเนื้่อที่ 2000 เฮกตาร์ ของ Sime Darby Property บริษัทลูกของ Sime Darby เจ้าพ่อน้ำมันปาล์ของมาเลเซีย ที่ตอนนี้กำลังทำทางด่วนสาย Guthrie Corridor Expressway ด้วย

หวังเดินรถ จาก KL Sentral ไป Penang Sentral ใน 3 ชั่วโมง เริ่ม มิถุนายน 2015 โดยระยะทาง จาก KL Sentral (กม. 388.5) ไป Penang Sentral (กม. 0) อยู่ที่ 388.5 กิโลเมตร - พอๆ กะ ทางไปพิษณุโลก - ใช้รถไฟฟ้าของ CSR Zhuzhou เร็วสูงสุด 160 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง

จากข้อมูลการเดินรถ KL Sentral - Ipoh ที่มีบริการ 2 รูปแบบ (แบบทองที่จอดน้อย ความเร็วเฉลี่ย 89 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง และ แบบเงินที่จอดมากความเร็วเฉลี่ย 83 กิโลเมตรต่อชั่วโมง) จะพบว่า แบบ ทอง จะเดินทางจาก KL Sentral ไป Penang Sentral ในเวลา 4 ชั่วโมง 22 นาที และ แบบเงินที่เดินทางจาก KL Sentral ไป Penang Sentral ในเวลา 4 ชั่วโมง 41 นาที - ผิดจากที่คาดการณ์ว่าจะเดิ้นทางใน 3 ชั่วโมงไว้เยอะ - ดังนั้นจึงส่อให้เห็นว่าต้องเดินทางแบบ Non-stop แบบ แพลตินัมที่เคยใช้กะ KL Sentral ไป อิโปห์ ในเวลา 1 ชั่วโมง 58 นาทีมาแล้ว ซึ่งพบว่าจะใช้เวลาเดินทาง 3 ชั่วโมง 42 นาที
