Suite Class Compartment and Luxury trains are selling well during Eid 2024 transportation
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) noted that Suite Class Compartment and Luxury class train tickets were popular with the public during Eid 2024 transportation. This train class with facilities above executive class is able to attract public interest for homecoming or return traffic.
In the period 31 March to 21 April 2024, KAI sold 1,573 Suite Class Compartment class tickets or 112% of the total capacity provided of 1,408 tickets. Meanwhile, 12,941 Luxury class tickets were sold.
The peak volume of Suite Class Compartment class passengers for homecoming flows occurred on D-3 or April 7 2024 with 76 passengers, and the peak return flow was on H+2 or April 13 2024 with 104 passengers. The peak volume of Luxury class passengers for homecoming flows occurred on H-4 or April 6 2024 with 683 passengers, and the peak return flow was on H+4 or April 15 2024 with 774 passengers.
"KAI would like to thank loyal customers who have chosen the Suite Class Compartment and Luxury Train services during Eid 2024. We are committed to continuing to improve the quality of service in providing an unforgettable travel experience for customers," said EVP of Corporate Secretary KAI Raden Agus Dwinanto Budiadji.
During the Eid transportation, Luxury class trains were attached to Argo Dwipangga trains (Gambir Solo Balapan pp), Argo Bromo Anggrek (Gambir Surabaya Pasarturi pp), Argo Lawu (Gambir Solo Balapan pp), Argo Parahyangan (Gambir Bandung pp) , Gajayana (Gambir Malang pp), Sembrani (Gambir Surabaya Pasarturi pp), Taksaka (Gambir Yogyakarta pp), and Additional Manahan (Gambir Solo Balapan pp).
Meanwhile, Suite Class Compartment class trains are coupled with KA Bima (Gambir Surabaya Gubeng pp) and KA Argo Semeru (Gambir Surabaya Gubeng pp).
Some of the luxury train facilities that KAI operates for Eid 2024 transportation have used the New Generation Luxury Train fleet in order to improve services to the community. The advantages of the New Generation Executive and Luxury Trains include that the train entrance and connecting doors between trains already use automatic electric doors.
In addition, the Passenger Information Display System (PIDS) available on each train can display information on the nearest station, speed and room temperature. These PIDS help create a better travel experience and provide customers with important information during their journey.
Executive and Luxury New Generation Train windows have also been upgraded to tempered double glass from previously tempered glass. So the level of safety is higher, helps reduce the entry of excess heat and UV rays into the room, and reduces noise better.
Another advantage of the New Generation Luxury Train is the addition of toilets from the previous Luxury Train from 1 toilet to 2 toilets and separated into men's and women's toilets.
During the homecoming flow, KAI also distributed gifts in the form of Buttonscarves hijabs and Foxandbunny toys to Suite Class Compartment and Luxury class train customers. This prize distribution is a form of appreciation for customer loyalty and support in using the Suite Class Compartment and Luxury Train services.
KAI is committed to maintaining customer trust as best as possible. So that KAI services remain the people's choice for transportation for Eid, Christmas and other occasions. "This can make trains sustainable transportation," said Agus. (Public Relations KAI)

PT KAI's Goods Transport Performance Slopes, Quarter I/2024 Increases 3% PT KAI reported that its goods transportation performance throughout the first quarter of 2024 rose 3% on an annual basis. Lorenzo Anugrah Mahardhika - Bisnis.com Monday, April 29 2024 | 12:14 Share Zoom in Freight Transport Train. -KAI Smallest Font Largest Font Bisnis.com , JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI reports that it has transported 15.78 million tons of goods throughout the first quarter of 2024. KAI EVP of Corporate Secretary Raden Agus Dwinanto Budiadji said that KAI was recorded as transporting 15,758,465 tons of goods in the January-March 2024 period. This record increased 3% compared to the first quarter/2023 period of 15,345,339 tons of goods. KAI's goods transportation in the first quarter of 2024 was dominated by coal commodities amounting to 12,496,424 tons or 79% of KAI's total goods transportation. KAI's coal transportation is concentrated in the southern Sumatra region to support national energy supplies. Almost all commodities, both coal and non-coal, show a positive trend where growth ranges from 3% to 22%. Agus explained that the growth of goods transportation was supported by the increase in trip frequency and routes, as well as the addition of carriages in a series. "This is the impact of the continued increase in customer demand for goods transportation using trains," explained Agus in his official statement, Monday (29/4/2024). Transporting goods using trains has various advantages such as punctuality, safety, large capacity, free of illegal fees, and managed by professional human resources. One of the advantages of trains is their very large capacity. One carriage can carry 50 tons or the size of 2 container trucks. In fact, one series of trains transporting coal in southern Sumatra can pull 60 carriages or 3,000 tons at once. If transported by truck, it would require approximately 120 trucks. "KAI goods transportation is here to support competitive logistics costs and reduce the impact of externalities such as congestion, pollution, damaged roads, and increase global competitiveness," said Agus. In the first quarter of 2024, KAI will continue to make efforts to strengthen goods transportation, one of which is by collaborating with Progress Rail (a subsidiary of Caterpillar) from the US to procure 54 locomotives. This agreement is part of KAI's strategic steps in its plan to develop goods transportation in South Sumatra. Meanwhile, the level of punctuality of goods train departures reached 93.9% in the first quarter of 2024, an increase compared to the first quarter of 2023, namely 91.6%. Then, the level of on-time arrival of goods trains in the first three months of 2024 reached 88.3%, an increase compared to the first quarter of 2023, namely 86.3%. He said that the improvement in train punctuality performance was achieved through improving the quality of overall operational performance including maintenance of facilities and infrastructure. "Punctuality is one of the advantages of traffic jam-free rail transportation, so it is sought after by customers, including commodity entrepreneurs," said Agus.
